Great Migration Special (Mara)

4 days From $1200 / person

Between roughly July and October, over a million wildebeest and zebra move through the Maasai Mara, crossing the Mara River in scenes that have defined East African safari photography for decades. This four-day itinerary keeps you in the reserve through that window, with a driver-guide who tracks herd movement daily to put you near the river when it matters.

Because crossings can happen at any hour, mornings and afternoons are both spent in the field, with flexibility built into the schedule to chase the herds rather than a fixed route.

  1. Day 1: Fly or drive to the Mara. Afternoon game drive to get oriented to current herd positions.
  2. Day 2: Full day following the migration, with time held at known river-crossing points.
  3. Day 3: Second full day in the reserve, revisiting crossing points and the wider plains for resident wildlife.
  4. Day 4: Final sunrise game drive, then transfer back to Nairobi.
